Nankai University established the "Institute of Optoelectronic Thin Film Devices and Technology" in 1992 with remarkable achievements. On this basis, Tianjin Key Laboratory of Thin Film Electronic and Communication Devices was approved in 2012.
We have been working on the basic research of optical electric mutual transformation and application technology, as well as the applied basic research in renewable energy, environment and other areas. We have made original achievements with independent intellectual property rights, trained high-end talents and made important contributions to the development of relevant technologies and industries in Tianjin and the whole country.
The key laboratory is built around the areas related to the mutual transformation of "Light" and "Electricity", and condenses the research directions with traditional basic advantages and development potential:
1. Research on devices and applications of photovoltaic materials;
2. Research on superconducting thin film devices;
3. Research on design and implementation of thin film functional materials;
4. Research on advanced display devices and systems.
