November 9th, The Fourth China-South Korea High-level Dialogue of the Think Tank between Nankai University and the East Asia Foundation with the theme “China-South Korea Cooperation for Peace and Stability of North East Asia” was held on Jinnan campus, Nankai University. Chairman of East Asia Foundation and Chair Professor of Dongseo University Gong Ro-myung,President of Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements (KRIHS) Kim Dongju, President of Nankai University Gong Ke, Vice Presidents of Nankai University Zhu Guanglei and Yan Chunhua attended the dialogue. Nearly 100 experts and scholars from China and South Korea participated in the dialogue. Vice President Zhu Guanglei hosted the opening ceremony.
Gong Ke extended warm welcome to the guests during in his speech during the opening ceremony. He pointed out that the first three China-South Korea High-level dialogues have seen significant research outcomes through in-depth discussion on “Peace and Cooperation in Northeast Asia”, “Situation of Korean Peninsula”, “South Korea-China Relations”, “Regional Governance” and “The Development of Automobile Industry”. The dialogue is a significant conference after the 19th CPC National Congress and during the APEC Summit. He hoped that the dialogue would promote the friendship between the two countries, propose more directions with research significance and provide intellectual support for cooperation between China-South Korea cooperation and within Northeast Asia, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration and the development of Tianjin.
“China-South Korea High-level Dialogue of the Think Tank between Nankai University and the East Asia Foundation” has been successfully held for three consecutive years since 2014. Co-hosted by Nankai University, East Asia Foundation and KRIHS, the “Fourth China-South Korea High-level Dialogue of the Think Tank between Nankai University and the East Asia Foundation” was organized by Asia Research Center in Nankai University. During the two-day conference, both sides have deepened their understanding and friendship through effective communications.
